How can I get her connected again? We have moved computers around, and I think our IT guy forgot about her... hardware is ok, I think he just didn't finish setting her up. And of course, he is not available.

If she could access the network before and if the only change has been physical (moving hardware around), then you don't have any real configuration issues. You have a hardware issue.
1. Check to see if your computer ''thinks'' it is connected. Open control panel, then network connections. See if the local area network shows itself as ''connected''. If not, there is a cable physically unplugged somewhere. Either at the computer, or the hub/switch/router... somewhere. Realize that a cable can look plugged in, even when it isn't. Physically check by unplugging, then plugging it back in all the way.
2. If the computer shows it is connected, try to reach the interent. If you can't, you have a logical connection issue. Open up a command prompt (start-run-''cmd''). Type ''ipconfig /flushdns'', then ''nbtstat -R'' to flush your cache. Then type ''ipconfig /release'' followed by ''ipconfig /renew''. This will refresh your DHCP settings and you should be fine. If you do not get a renewal, either you don't have DHCP, or you have a problem very hard to diagnose from here.

Things you should check.
1. Cable is plugged and connected.
2. Network card is enabled from Windows
3. It has the right IP address and Subnet.
4. If it is in workgroup, it has the right workgroup name.
