Can all my computers on the network print off one USB printer?

I have one plain USB printer and three computers that are on the network, will everyone be able to use this printer with me having to go and buy some special printer with a Ethernet line for everyone to be able to print. If so any ideas how to set this up?

If you want to set up a networked printer, you will either need to get a printer hub, or a printer with an ethernet jack. Here is an example of a print server: http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite... This will do what you need and it works with a usb printer. It is a lot cheaper the going out and getting a new printer, that has an ethernet jack.

This should work, but the computer the printer is hooked up to needs to be on for the other PC's to print from it.

To do this (assuming you've already got the network setup) go to Start%26gt;Settings%26gt;Control Panel%26gt;Printers and Faxes. Right click your printer and go to Properties. Next go to the Sharing tab and click the ''Share this printer'' button. Give the printer a name you can remember.

Now on the PC's that you want to share the printer with go to Start%26gt;Settings%26gt;Control Panel%26gt;Printers and Faxes and double click ''Add a printer''. Click ''Next''. Now select the button by ''A network printer...'' and click next. Click next again and you should get a tree of your network with the work groups and PC's listed. Find the PC that has the printer being shared and expand it. This should show the printer you want to use. Just double click it and you should be good to go.
