I'm working on a resume for a job that requires being proficient with computers, which I am. Im looking for a better way to describe this in the cover letter than saying ''I am very good with computers''.

I have no formal computer training, but I am better than average with computers.

You are computer literate. Without school certificates, there is no way to prove how competent you are. Being proficient means you can perform all types of operations, from web design and development to hardware maintenance. Sorry, you really do need a certificate from at least a Tech school to make any better claims.

Better than average? How did you determine that?

Words like 'good' are weightless. Use action words like installed, integrated, evaluated, upgraded, managed, designed and words like proficient, well-versed, expert.
Computer literate, computer proficient. Either of these would work.
List the programs, too.

Experienced with Word, Access, Excel,etc--------
Definitely try to avoid things they're going to see on everyone else's resume. In your work history, list programs you used often, and document any projects that required you to use them. By showing a detailed history of practical use of computers, you'll be way ahead of people who are ''computer literate, I promise!''
