Which of these computers would you get and why?
I can't make up my mind...
1. Gateway GT5468
Pentium Dual Core E2160 (1.8 GHZ)
2gb DDR2
Dual layer DVD+-RW/CD RW
400 GB Hard drive
Graphics media accelerator 950
$730
or
hp pavilion a6110n
Athlon 64x2 dual core 4400+ (2.3 GHZ)
2GB DDR2
Dual layer DVD+-RW with lightscribe
320 GB Hard drive
Nvidia geforce 6150 se graphics card
$680
But now, between this one, and this other?
HP Pavilion a6130n
Athlon 64x2 5000+ ( 2.6 GHZ)
3 GB DDR2 SDRAM
Double layer DVD+-RW/CD-RW with lightscribe
400 GB Hard Drive
Nvidia geforce 6150 se graphics card
$799
Is the extra ram and .3 in processor really worth it?
As i said in my other Q, i'm going to be gaming, watching movies and using large graphics with photoshop.
Between these 2 computers, which one should i choose?auto protect
If you are going to be using Windows Vista, it requires a lot of RAM for you to be comfortable moving around windows. with that said, I would spend the extra money and get the 3GB DDR2 HP machine ($680). For what you will be doing (watching movies, gaming, and large graphics, the Athlon 64x2 dual core will work nicely. Hard drive space isn't really an issue. Upgrade when you need to, but it isn't worth the extra $100+ for that and the little difference you will see in the processor speed. If you are going to be gaming, I would take that extra money you will be saving and get a better PCI express graphics card. The Nvidia geforce 6150 is ok, but there are much much better out there as an add on that will significantly improve your gaming and movie experience.
