There are a lot of varying types of computers - even within one manufacturer. HP makes a good product (HP owns Compaq) when it comes to desktops - though, their notebooks systems have issues. Whether or not the computer is 'good' depends on what you get moreso than who you get it from.

I have 37 computers, all brands and I use a Compaq Evo D510. Quiet and powerful. They are a little ornery to repair because compaq pc's like compaq parts.
We've had a few Compaq PCs at our office. Dells too. I think the Dells have held up better over the years. I still like to build them myself or have someone build them for me. It makes it easier to upgrade.
yeah. in case you didn't know HP and Compaq are the same. They merged some years ago.
compaq is of HP product,so u shouldn't have any doubt in purchasing that..but becare with the configuration,,
i think they surely r. thew one that i use is Compaq and it is still functioning like a new one since 2 years.
I've got a Compaq Laptop. It is a fantastic brand as it offers full customer service and comes with a lot of gadgets.
