Do new lap tops and desktop computers running M'soft/Windows software come with ports/sockets f

Do new lap tops and desktop computers (sold in Australia) running M'soft/Windows software come with ports/sockets for USB Drives (Memory sticks)?

I have files from programs on an old Apple Macintosh that is 11 years old, saved on floppy disk.

And I want to transfer the date over to modern up to date storage. I don't think all lap tops, desktop computers come with CD Burners do they? And some CD Burner program don't seem to be user friendly (easy) to use.

Also, are CD-R or CD-RW better for saving and storing data on?

Just because the software your computer comes with doesnt make your hardware change. Most comp's have usb ports these day's you should check tho with the computer company your buying from.

You can burn a Cd with all you documents and files etc. then put it on your other computer. Also you could use a usb flash drive lol, but those are like only 1 G. I have a cd burner/cd drive, but i do not have a program to burn cd's/ if your computer does not come with a cd burner program, you ahve to go buy one,

Good luck, hope i helped =D

1. Yes, all laptops now come with USB ports, well, at least 1.

2. You can get a usb floppy that could be used on the pc to read your mac floppies.

3. Every pc comes with a CD reader, nearly all come with a cd or even dvd burner (have to check the specs).

4 If you save your mac data to CD-R, that would be the best. the RW can be too easily written over, and it would be good to have a permanent backup during the transition.

5. Personnaly, I think you would be better off buying a another mac! The file conversion isn't easy. And macs are better. A mac mini is better than most pc's.
