I am trying to setup a wireless connection, but 2 computers are trying to use the same IP address...

I am trying to set up 2 computers to use the same ADSL modem. One of the computers is connected by an Ethernet cable, while the other is wireless . When I connect one of the computers to the internet the other computer will not, as a message appears saying that the IP address is in use.

how do I obtain a second ip address?

First make double sure the cabling is correct. From modem to Internet connector on the wireless router. From one of the other 4 connectors to the network card of the computer. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 10 seconds, then cycle power. Go into the computers and make sure they are set to DHCP or Automatic thru the IP properties, and no DNS is selected. Right click on the Icons and select repair. After it comes up log in to the router and change the log in password, set it to channel 11 and setup wireless security.
